#150: 4 Unsexy Habits to transform Your Fitness in 2026
[00:00:00] Welcome to 40+ Fitness for Women. I'm super excited for this new year 2026, and in this episode I wanna talk about how we can make 2026. Even better than 2025. And uh, actually I have to say, if you are like me and a lot of my friends, 2025 was not a great year. So, so the bar is pretty low, but I think it's still a really good thing to start in the beginning of the year and think about this clean slate that we have of a year.
What do we really wanna do with it? Where do we wanna be when December comes around it? It's like this moment where we feel like we can reinvent ourselves to some degree.
So this morning I woke up to headlines in all the major news outlets about how it has now [00:01:00] shown that people regain the weight within a couple years once they come off the GLP one. And I'm thinking to myself with all the things going on in the world, this is headline news. I mean, you know, and I know that if you're on a diet and then you come off the diet and you go back to your normal life doing the things that you've always done without any lifestyle changes.
You are going to regain the weight. That's just the way it goes. And now I realize I'm oversimplifying in the sense that there are really people who have been quite overweight and quite unhealthy and they have needed the medications and it has helped them, but there's also. A lot of people who are taking it as an easier way to lose those last pounds or to manage their weight because, well, they feel like they don't have the willpower or whatever [00:02:00] to do it on their own.
And, and I know people like this, so, so, yeah. Um, of course there are. All range of people. So I don't wanna just say, oh, everybody whos GLP ones is like this. But there are those people, and you really do need to make the lifestyle changes if you want it to stick. If you want anything to stick, it needs to be a lifestyle change.
And that's why I've always kind of been against. You know, these 12 week resets, metabolic resets, juice cleanses, all these gimmicks that people do at the beginning of the year because they do them for a little while and then they just stop. And by December that thing has been completely forgotten. Any, you know, good effects of that are long gone.
And so I, I feel like there's so much more value in adopting habits, changing your lifestyle that will actually, [00:03:00] actually change your life, transform who you are, how you think of yourselves, and the self, and the things that you do day to day. So I've also, I mean, kind of this philosophy also goes into the whole time, um, you know, my whole life now that I've had kids and life was really busy with two careers and three kids, and nine hobbies and all the things.
And you know, we thought about like, where are we gonna put our money? Right. How are, how are we gonna use our extra income? And I know that a lot of families go on amazing trips and all this, and when you have a family of five, it is not cheap to take all of you during school vacations when all the prices are higher somewhere for a vacation.
It's. You know, it's over, it can be like 10,000 euros or, you know, it's, it's thousands of euros for sure. And then, you know, when you get there, you gotta [00:04:00] eat and, and all the things anyway. So for me, the philosophy was always much more about. Making my everyday life better. And for that reason, for example, we had, um, someone who came in and helped with picking up the kids, or we had services that helped with the cooking, you know, so that my everyday life was less stressful.
So I got like a little vacation every day rather than one big vacation, and then back into the nightmare, you know, for the rest of the year. So, so anyway, in this episode I wanna talk about what are those little things, and these are not sexy, none of them are sexy. But what are those things that you can change in your lifestyle that will really bring a, a real change into the quality of your life and how you feel about yourself.
And now [00:05:00] I have, I have my, uh, liftoff challenge that's going on right now as I'm recording this. And it has been, again, such an amazing way to, to communicate with a lot of women at once and women who are still at the point where they haven't started really working on themselves. You know, the, the struggle is real.
Women who are like, perimenopause is happening. I've gained weight. I'm getting weak. I wanna age well. Uh, I don't like the way I look anymore. The exercises that I'm doing aren't enough, or they're not doing the trick anymore. These are the pain points. And the thing is that when we reach perimenopause, menopause, and it can even happen later actually, um, even when you're in post menopause, maybe, that you feel like, oh, I've just coasted on through this new problems, and then it hits you [00:06:00] a few years later.
You suddenly lose your muscle, you gain the weight and whatever. So it's a, it's
